Sunday dinner and a game of
Chutes and Ladders with the babies!
A delight!
(especially if someone else is doing the dishes!)

Project 365: Jan 30, 2011

This is where Chad spends most of his time on Sundays.
Bishopric meetings start at 10am,
church at 1,
then interviews and other responsibilities,
but makes it home by 5:30 or so to have dinner
with the familee.

He will often interview the rest of the evening,
if he doesn't have other meetings,
at the house.

We both feel just so grateful to be able to serve
in the singles ward.
What a blessing to our lives it has been!

Here is a schedule of what a week is like in this calling:
(some are his jobs, some are mine)
Jan 22 - wedding sealing of ward members, help set up for reception, reception
Jan 23 - Chad start at 9am with a sacrament meeting before with SUV choir,
came home for dinner, then had two other meeting later,
followed by a Believing Christ meeting which ended at 10:30
(this is not a typical Sunday!)
Jan 24 - FHE, bring salad for 50 people
interview until 9pm
Jan 25 - my surgery, Chad meetings/interviews until 10
Jan 26 - interviewing from 4-9
Jan 27 - interviewing from 4-9
help with bridal shower, decorating and preparing food
Jan 28 - institute, help set up for another reception
Jan 29 - reception of ward members - take pictures
Jan 29-30 Chad to California on the bus with the SUV choir
Jan 29 - Women's conference, spend time preparing talk for New Beginnings

LIFE IS GOOD!

Hope Walton and I (but mainly Hope!) had a shower for Jessica Tingey
who is marrying Sean Hansen.
I always love doing events with Hope because she
does the food
(which she loves and I don't)
and I do the decorations
(which I love and she doesn't!)
It's a great arrangement.

The food was yummy, the decorations cute, the company wonderful.
Couldn't have asked for a better night.

IV liquid feels cold running through your veins.
It is an odd sensation.
And you can feel when they start the anesthesia as well.
It's a bit of a burn.
But thank goodness for anesthesia.
Thanks goodness for modern medicine.
I would not have been a good pioneer!

Surgery Day: Tuesday, Jan 25, 2011
Hospital: St. Rose DeLima
Doctor: Dr. Juarez
Half hour procedure, all went well, feeling great the next day.
Hospital was great with very good staff.

Now, I just have to get back my energy.
One of my nurse friends says it takes 3 months to replenish lost blood cells.
Darn, I was hoping more like 3 days!

Grandma Kennedy's birthday.
She is 76 years young.
Gosh, I hope I can keep the same pace she does when I get that age.

Lana, Sesily, Ella and I took her to
Rachel's Kitchen in the District for lunch!

Project 365: Jan 22, 2011

Why don't the things I make look like the picture!

Megan picked out this cute hat so I could make for Bennett. The hat is cute enough, (even though the scarf that hangs down twists and they don't tell you how to fix that!)
but it is 50 sizes too big!

But, hey, Kenny could wear it! It's cold and he needs a hat, right.
Don't you think he would just be so cute in it!

Dumb thing!

Project 365: Jan 19, 2011

Gosh darn, the things your body does after you turn 50!
I have been to two doctors this week only to find out I am depleting my iron reserve levels, my thyroid is not producing enough synthyroid and well,
other lovely female problems! And I am starting a bladder infection!

Cranberry juice for the bladder, orange juice and B-12 for the iron
and a strong dosage of synthyroid. Gosh, in a month I should be a new woman!

Project 365: Jan 17, 2011

Cohen had a 'spend-over' at our house.
One of my necklaces broke so he worked away trying to fix it!

The other day he asked me about something from 2 years past.
We had taken him out to the desert up above the temple. I was taking pictures.
Brett was with us playing with his remote control car.

Cohen remembered that we had found some 'dinosaur bones', he called them and that I had put them in my coat pocket.
He told me the color of the jacket. It was one that I normally don't wear.

Sure enough, the bones were in there! I was amazed that he remembered that from so long ago!

Project 365: Jan 15, 2011

Chad left for Texas for 2 days.
Two of the kids in the ward were getting married and he felt like he should go.
So I just played!!!

For me, sometimes, play means, pull out the list out of all the things I need to do and check them off.
I do love the 'check-mark!'

But while checking things off my list, I watched all three series of Twlight.
Dang! I loved them! I hope she write other series and they get produced.
I was just glad that I didn't spend the time reading them.
It would have taken me months.

(Then after Chad got home, he watched them, so I saw them a second time.)
That is more tv than I watch in a month!

Thanks Nicole and Bree for the idea.

Project 365: Jan 12, 2011

It has been a few years since I have put up Valentines decorations.
I loved when this idea came to me.
I already had the pictures from our Christmas card.
They were perfect to create this over the dining room table.

I just love their little heads. Isn't this so cute with Amara and her
big flower headband, and Llayton with his hat on.

Project 365: Jan 8, 2011

Oh gosh, my hands look old!
Sad day. Today I had my wedding ring cut off.
About a year ago, my finger just started to hurt. Then this summer,
the knuckle began to grow.

I am waiting for results to see if it is arthritis or a cyst.

"Pop, pop, fizz, fizz
Oh, what a good teacher you IS."
Thanks to Bree for this great idea.

We had a Sunday School appreciation dinner for the teachers and presidency in the Royal Mesa Ward. Just wanted to let them know how grateful we are for their hard work. We just love those kids and think we are so lucky to be serving in that ward!

Project 365: Jan 6, 2011

Oh, he is adorable.
I love when he sings Elmo's song.
I love that he 'swallows his fits'.
I love that he goes potty on the big toilet.
I love that he sleeps with his bear and baby.
I love how he kisses Caiden.
I love when he gives me kisses and pats on the back.
I love you, Llayton!

My other new love, knitting.
You can do that when you are over 50!
This hat was fun to make.

Project 365: Jan 5, 2011

This just make me laugh.
Look at these two 2-yr-olds (Kennedy and Llayton)
playing on their mom's the iphones!
I think it is so funny how they look over at the other's phone to see what
their playing.

So darling!

Llayton and Caiden.
Two happy boys just like their momma!

The only time I have seen Caiden unhappy is when
Bree eats something with dairy and eggs in.
His little body does not tolerate that well.
Bree is looking into with a specialist.

Project 365: Jan 3, 2011

We were happy that Bret and Bree stayed a week after the holiday's.
Brett wanted to go with Chad to the BYU vs. UNLV game.

Project 365: Jan 2

Since Chad has become Bishop, he uses the den to interview.
Since he interviews nearly everyday, I moved out!

I have my own little cubby in the family room.
This way, I can talk on the phone and he doesn't have to tell me to be quiet when he is on the phone.

January 2011

Last year, 2010, at the beginning of the year, I started 'Project 365'. It seems like a great idea. Just take one picture a day and document your life, your surroundings, activities, people you love, etc. I love the camera so it wasn't that difficult to do since I already was taking so many pictures.

However, the blogging became too much. I made it until April (missing a whole lot of days). But, gosh, anything is better than nothing. Now, looking back on the few post I did make, I loved what I documented.

I think I will try again, knowing however, that I will not take one picture everyday. Knowing that it will get to be 'just one more thing to do'. Nevertheless, I want to put forth that effort since this is how I document my life, right here on this blog. Then printed into a book at the end of the year.

Instead of having it's own blog, I am going to combine it with this blog since so many of the images already overlap. Those entries will be titles "Project 365' and the date. Hope I can keep up!
