31 Years!

Chad and I have been married now for 31 years - today! That sounds like a long time, well that's because it is a LONG time! He is a good husband, a good father, a good provider, a good 'problem solver', and honest business man, and a great papa to all our darling babies. All the kids look to him for guidance. He is wise in his counsel.

He loves the latest gadget but spends most of his time on the phone with technical support (which drives him crazy)! He fixes thing as soon as they get broken. He's clean and tidy (I am not!), his car, his side of the office, and his side of the bedroom. He loves dessert but is happy with bread and milk when I don't have anything for dinner. He dislikes people who drive slow in the fast lane!

I am grateful for the good things that have come into my life because of him. Most of all, I am grateful for the children we have, the spouses they have married and the beautiful babies that are such a part of our lives.

I am grateful that he loves the Lord, for his dedication to the gospel, which is the center of our lives. I do know it is through obedience to the gospel that such joy has filled our lives. My hope is that each one of our children and their families will be just as devoted and fill that same joy. (I think they are!) I hope their children bring them the joy our children have brought into our lives.

To another 31 years or longer!

So kissable!

I just love newborns! Love everything about them. My favorite position to hold them in is with their head on my shoulder with their face in the crock of my neck! I love to feel their little breath on my neck.

Brett said that Caiden has been so good - he is still in 'hibernation mode.' I told him that was good because Llayton was not!

Love these pictures of Caiden.

Caiden Kane Lee

Born: June 11, 2010
7:12 am
6 lbs. 13 oz
19 inches

I have been praying for some time that Bree's deliver of this new little one would be much easier for her than Llayton's delivery. That was just an ordeal that we all didn't want her to go through again!

We certainly saw our prayers answered with Caiden's birth. After all tests were run, the doctor said that Bree could be induced, the baby was developed and really didn't need for him to get any bigger, since she is so small.

A date was set, Brett flew home from his summer sales job in Canada and her mother came in from California. She went into the hospital at 3:00 am, Friday, June 11th already dilated to a 3 and 75% effaced.

Brett called at 6 am saying she was at a 4 and they had just given her the epidural. I showered and got ready and left by half hour later with Megan, who was photographing the event. Just after we got in the car a text came in from Brett, " She is at a 10. So if we are going to do picture you guys might want to hurry . she's not pushing cause Dr. Groom isn't here. But it is going super fast."

Fifteen minutes later, I tested and said we were getting off the freeway. He replied that the doctor still wasn't there but they were putting her in the stirrups. Bree was resisting the push but she can feel him coming out.

At the hospital entrance, I dropped Megan off. She ran threw the halls and was snapping pictures as she entered the room. I parked and ran, well, ran and walked fast, huffy and puffing the whole way!

Megan made it into the room maybe two minutes before the birth. She actually got pictures of Bree's face as he was coming out - she was grinning and laughing.
Bree didn't even break a sweat!

Bree told the nurse that she felt like he was coming out, (she could feel the baby's head against her legs) she pulled the sheet back to see - he was! She said, "Let's go." I think Bree just lifted her upper body so she could see the birth. But she didn't even push. He just slid out!

As I ran past the nurses station to ask for her room, I heard happy voices in the distance and then a cry! I came in just the second after he was born. (Last picture as I am holding her foot, you will see my reaction.)

It was amazing! What a joy to come into such a happy, wonderful event.

Terri, Bree's mom made it just about 5 minutes before I did. We all beat Dr. Groom.
Heather Camp, who was Bree's nurse at Llayton's delivery was the one who delivered Caiden. That was such a blessing to have her there as she knew Bree's history with Llayton. Poor Dr. Groom. You could see the disappointment on his face. He said he was so surprised, expecting her to deliver in the later morning hours, early afternoon. He said he shouldn't have taken that shower this morning!

Caiden weighed 6 lb 13 oz and was 19 inches long with black hair like Llayton. Bree is doing fabulous. She so deserved this birth after Llayton's. We are so happy for her and Brett.

I am so grateful to be allowed to be a part of these experiences. They create a memory for me that I cherish. But I also respect wishes of privacy during birth as it is such a personal event.

The day before Delivery

She's all baby! It's just a cute, round belly, and, no stretch marks! Since they decided to induce her (all tests show the baby is developed and Dr. Groom doesn't want the baby to get any bigger), this shoot ended up being the night before Bree delivered. It worked out great because her mom and sister were able to be here and watch. From the back, a person wouldn't even know that she is pregnant!

Bree really didn't want many pictures, mainly just one's with Llayton in. Llayton is always kissing her belly. He's going to love this little baby. We all are!

I just love doing the silhouettes.
And I adore the ones with Llayton.

She just looks so beautiful. She has such a darling smile.

Isn't this so funny! Dr. Groom told her to jump around - so, she did!

Babies and Bubbles

Babies and bubbles just go together in the summertime! It's a happy time! I just love to see their darling faces reacting to the bubbles. Bennett & Llayton Lee.
