Out for a ride with Papa

That dune buggy has been a popular item at our house! Cute pictures of Chad with the kids!

Little Miss Mari

Look who is now 6 months old! Little Miss Mari (I call her that.) She is just precious! It was a rough start at the beginning with acid reflux and colic. She was unhappy and so were her parents. After a few different formula's, she is now on soy milk, she is a much more content baby. Oh, she is darling. It is fun when I get her all alone. Most of the babies nurse so they aren't very far from their mom's for very long. She put herself to sleep after she is fed. She is a sweet little thing. I think she looks like Cohen but most others say she looks like Ella. I just love her!

Pumpkin Patch

Close to our house is a pumpkin patch. I love taking the kids to do their pictures in their costumes. The owners of the patch are always so kind and are happy to let us do this. Some of the extended family came, the Flynn's, Kennedy's and my parents.

When Cohen and Ella came up to me, they shocked me. Cohen looked so different with his dread lock and scarf and Ella, well, she just looked beautiful with her hat on. I really do think each one of the grandbabies are just so 'pretty'! I adore their little faces!

Lovin' the boots!

Llayton is just learning how to walk. Don't you just love the boot and the hat!

And look what happens when they are first learning to walk.
He fell and hit his head on the leg of the kitchen chair. It swelled that big within a minute!
When he gets hurt, he cried for a bit and then is over it. He really doesn't fuss or whine much at all.

This and That

Ella let me take her picture right before Chad took her and Cohen on the new dune buggy! Chad bought a new dune buggy to 'play with the kids'. Must remind him of his youth and his dunebuggy that his Dad made.

Thank goodness for Chad who gets to be my model (since no one else is at home). I am working on a new technique with off camera lighting. This was taken just after sundown and that is the moon behind him. I really like the look it creates.

It's Kindergarten for Cohen

Well, the first week is now behind us of Cohen's kindergarten. It has been a little rough on him. He has shed a few tears every morning as they drop him off. He is quite a content child to play at home. I think he gets a bit nervous being in crowds so the playground isn't too fun yet for him. I know he will get use to it once he feels comfortable and has some friends. When someone asks hims about school, he will even tell them that he cries before school. It is much different as a grandma, than as a mother, watching these new events in their lives. You want to protect them even more than you did with your own children. I just pray extra hard for them.

I was able to pick him up the first day of school with Trent. He told us a few things and answered our questions. Then he said out of the blue, "I have a pretty girl in my class". Trent and I just started to laugh. It was just so darling. He also told us she had pretty earrings and his friend, Jolee, had pretty sparkly shoes on.

He has a spiderman backpack. His teach is Ms. Hatcher.

Another birthday

Grandma Lee turned 72 this past week. We had cake and ice cream to celebrate. Here in the picture is Marie, Brent, Ronda, Barbara, Eldon, Tiara, Sierra and Chad. Brent and Ronda have now moved in with Eldon to help care for Barbara.

Such a cute house

Lana and Tyson found a darling house in the cutest neighborhood to rent. They were fortunate that the owner was home while Tyson was out looking and didn't make them go through tons of paper work for approval. They were able to move right in. Since all the boys were gone or busy, Chad thought it would be best to hire a truck and a few men to move their furniture. Best idea ever! In just a few hours, the job was done.

Two days after they moved in, still in boxes, she had friends over for dinner! I don't think she even had food in the cupboard. I was amazed. I would have never attempted anything like that since I live by the rule 'work first, then play'. Sometimes I just hate that rule! But it has been ingrained in my head since I was young. Hard to get over.

Lana is having a great time decorating. She loves doing that . Just last night she painted a canvas for the bathroom. She get these ideas and then can just create them.

Labor Day Weekend in Parowan

As a child, didn't you just love going to a parade? Everyone lines the streets to watch as cars, horse, dancers, etc 'parade' by. Las Vegas is too big of a city and they don't have parades any more. So we decided to take our grand kids to the Parowan Labor Day parade and fair. I want them to know what it is like as a child to watch the parade!

We stayed at Brian Head. The kids went on a rhino exploring the mountain. Chad and I came up later since we had commitments.

On Monday, we went to the local breakfast at the park and then watched the parade. Ella especially liked when the dance companies would pass by. She would 'shake her bootie' right along with them. It was fun to watch them collect the candy thrown out their way. Cohen was so good to make sure Ella got her share. He would pick up some for her and hand it to her. I must admit, he is SOOOO good to her!

Chad and Cohen just love the dip and dot ice cream!

Trent's very best childhood friend, Adam Murie had a booth at the fair for his chiropractors business. It was a delight to see him.

Who wants a ride?

While we were in Utah at Kenny and Megan's, we watched Bennett's delight when he got to go on a bike ride with Kenny. Megan bought Kenny a baby seat to attach to his bike and the three of them love their rides.

Chad got an idea - a good way to exercize and a way he could take the babies with him. It took a bit of convincing before Llayton liked it. Doesn't he look so darling in his little helmet!

Now that there are no babies here, the seat has come off and Chad's rides are much longer. It won't be long before Llayton will be back from Sacramento

Leaving Bennett

I absolutely love going to BYU Education week. And it is even more fun now that Kenny and Megan are there. Brent and Ronda joined us this year and we all stayed at the condo with Ken and Meg and Bennett. It was a sad day for me to leave. I knew that it would be a while before I would get to see them all again. Kenny would be starting his second year in law school. We loved having them live with us in Las Vegas during the summer while Kenny did his interships. It was fun to be a part of Bennett's live every day. What a darling little personality he has. He is one loved little boy (as are all our little grandkids.) We adore them all! And we love their mom's and dad's just as much!

Practicing fun stuff!

I have this new technique I have been working on with flash off-camera. Whoever happens to be at the house gets to be my models. For that, Chad is always grateful. He hates to be my model!

Here's Cohen..

Adn Amara...

Now it's Lana's turn. She was painting a project for her new house so I kept making her come outside to model. You can tell she was thrilled!

Oops, immodest!

Still working and trying to perfect the look!
